Your elected Clinton Township Board of Trustees would like to welcome you to the Charter Township of Clinton. This Board is elected to office every four years.
Our Clinton Township Board consists of Township Supervisor Robert J. Cannon; Township Clerk George Fitzgerald; Township Treasurer William J. Sowerby; and four Township Trustees: Ernest O. Hornung, Ken Pearl, Dean Reynolds, and Jenifer West. The Township Supervisor, Clerk, and Treasurer are available to serve you on a full-time basis and may be reached at the Clinton Township Civic Center, 286-8000.
Clinton Township’s Administrative Office is located at 40700 Romeo Plank Road. All township departments are open to the public from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The Clinton Township Fire Department has five stations: No. 1 – 1129 S. Gratiot; No. 2 – 21250 Fifteen Mile Road; No. 3 – 16720 Clinton River Road; No. 4 – 42601 Romeo Plank Road; and No. 5 – 43800 Elizabeth Road. The Fire Department’s non-emergency number is 263-8437.
The Clinton Township Police Department is located at 37985 Grosebeck, and their non-emergency number is 493-7800. Both the Fire and Police Departments utilize the 911 Emergency Telephone Service.
The Clinton Township Board meets every other Monday for their Regular Board Meetings. The meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. in the Board Chambers at the Civic Center. These meetings are open to the public, but a prepared agenda is followed. To be placed on the meeting agenda, you must contact the Township Clerk’s office by the agenda deadline. All Public Notices are prepared by the Township Clerk and are published in the Macomb Daily Newspaper. Minutes of the meetings are also published in The Advisor. You are welcome to give public comment at the end of each meeting on any topic. Our Township Board meetings are televised live on Comcast Cable channel 5 and Wide Open West channel 10. Many other items of local interest are also televised for your benefit.
If you are a citizen of the United States, are at least eighteen (18) years of age and have lived in Clinton Township no less than thirty (30) days, you are eligible to register as an Elector of Clinton Township. This procedure can be done at a Secretary of State office when you change your driver’s license. If you have already changed your driver’s license you can come into the Township Offices and register at the Elections Division. Please keep in mind that your driver’s license and voter’s registration must have the same address.
Rubbish pick-up is one time per week, as is our curbside recycling, which is serviced by Waste Management (1-800-796-9696). Please call the Clinton Township Department of Public Works, 286-9465, for additional information concerning pick-up days, special pick-up restrictions, and recycling. NOTE: Trash pick-up is delayed one day for the following holidays only: Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day. Otherwise pick-up is on the regularly scheduled day.
