Department Overview
The Accounting and Finance Department prepares and maintains the Township’s financial statements, in compliance with the requirements of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB). The Accounting and Finance department is responsible for maintaining a financial management system to track funds and prepare financial reports to compare actual financial results with budgeted amounts to assess financial condition and results of operations. Financial statements and schedules are compiled at year-end for review by an independent accounting firm in preparation for a required annual audit.
 
The Accounting and Finance Department performs all accounting functions for the township, including budget preparation and monitoring, accounts payable, payroll, pension administration, grant compliance reporting and management, long-term debt management, fixed asset tracking and reporting, financial policy implementation and enforcement, and the risk management function.
 
Additionally, the Accounting and Finance Department provides support services to other departments including being part of the management team in labor negotiations with all employee bargaining units.
