| Annual Shred Day - Monday, March 18, 2013Our Annual Shred Day will be held on Saturday, May 18th at the Civic Center Parking Lot from 10AM - 1PM. Each participant is allowed two free grocery bags (paper or plastic) or two small boxes (12"x15"). Excess materials will be charged $5.00 per container of same size. Spring is nearly here and the Macomb County Health Department would like to remind residents and businesses about the risk of Salmonella from baby poultry. Every year, more and more consumers are raising baby poultry in their yards. Live poultry, especially baby poultry (chicks and ducklings), commonly carry the Salmonella bacteria, even when appearing healthy and clean.

| Passport News You Can Use - Wednesday, March 05, 2008On June 1, 2009, the U.S. Government will implement full requirements of the land and sea phase of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative. The proposed rules require most U.S. citizens entering the United States at sea or land ports to have a passport, passport card, or other travel document approved by the Department of Homeland Security.Children: U.S citizen children under the age of 16 will be able to present the original or copy of their birth certificate, or other proof of U.S. citizenship such as a naturalization certificate or citizenship card.Groups of U.S. citizen children ages 16-18, when traveling with a school or religious group, social organization, or sports team, will be able to enter under adult supervision with originals or copies of their birth certificates or other proof of citizenship.
